Ready to Go Pro? This is not the course for those who take things lightly, or for those who just want the badge. With this one you cross the line! The Divemaster is a part of the PADI diving instructional team, so be ready with those skill demonstrations! As a member of that team you assist the instructor with the logistics and the flow of the lessons and you supervise students during parts of the course. You may have to re demonstrate skills to students with problems before putting them back in line for the instructor to assess. You get to guide certified divers during diving excursions, your skills of navigation, site knowledge and general people skills make the experience more enjoyable for your divers! Good DM = Happy divers, very important for the dive centre you represent! Again, you are called to use your judgement on dive sites, conditions with weather and tides etc. Serious stuff. You get into the basics with your classes too! With eight exams in various subjects, your all round knowledge comes up to instructor level. You have the basic answers to the questions divers throw at you each day. Don't forget this stuff, you'll use it if you ever go for instructor level!
Then there are PADI programs that you can provide yourself as a Divemaster, so a chance to make some money in your own right. So, full time or part time job, travel the world, the choice is yours! Divemaster can be a way of life! |
