Dive Sites of Ao Nang and Krabi

Local Sites - Phi Phi Island Group - Superday Sites - Liveaboard Sites

Many have impressive fringing reefs, colourful fish, underwater caverns and swim throughs. If you slow down and look carefully may be lucky to find the local sea horses!

If you like the macro life, you will find plenty to enjoy amongst the corals. The other extreme are the occasional Whale Sharks seen around Phi Phi. Snorkelers will just love the shallower waters of some of Phi Phi's beautiful bays, such as Maya Bay where the famous film "The Beach" with Leonardo Di Caprio was shot on location. Why not take our tender from the boat and visit the beaches for a stroll during your surface interval?

From Ao Nang it’s just a nice boat trip! The sanctuary consists of three sites: Shark point, Anemone Reef and the wreck of the King Cruiser.

Shark Point (Thai name - Hin Mudsang) includes three pinnacles. A beautiful site with many gorgonian fans and much fish and macro life.

Anemone Reef (Thai name - Hin Jom) is a pinnacle that rises to 4m below the surface and is covered with anemones, soft corals and giant gorgonian fans. An incredible amount of marine life.

The wreck of the King Cruiser went down on 4th May 1997 after hitting the Anemone Reef. A catamaran ferry, 85m in length and 25 in the beam. She lies upright with the deck at 14m and maximum depth at 32m.

Koh Ha invites for some of the best cavern diving experiences in Thailand, with often very good visibility and lime stone caverns allowing divers to ascend in their giant stalactite-covered domes.

The pinnacles Hin Daeng and Hin Mouang however are the cream on the top since these giant submerged reefs offer best chances for whale shark and manta ray encounters!

Click map to enlarge !Northern Liveaboard Sites are famous for their breathtaking underwater landscapes comprising of huge rocks and boulders toppled on each other, forming exciting caves, caverns and swimthroughs. These dive sites are mainly located on Similan's west coast. Huge stone and soft coral fringing reefs can be found on the islands east cost. Huge sea fans are present at the more exposed dive sites in the south and southeast of Similan.

Marine life is dominated by colorful reef fish, moray eels, turtles, octopus, cuttlefish, groupers and larger pelagics such as trevallies and baracuda. A rich macro life adds to the demanding underwater photographer's portfolio. The Similans are perfect for divers and snorkellers at any age and any level of certification.
